e have been active in imaging design for a long time, and have quite a bit of experience in both CCD and CMOS detector design and applications.

The detector shown here is a large area CMOS camera used for digital x-ray applications.

The sensitive area of this camera is covered with a 'scintillator' which converts x-ray photons to visible light.

Once an image is focused on the 'detector' area, it is digitized, and transmitted to an image review station for storage and analysis.

The image at the right shows just how good the new generation of CMOS images have become. The actual image size is 2048 x 2048 pixels.
